North - South axis of Phu Quoc island

This is a route built according to the approved sustainable traffic development plan for Phu Quoc island, meeting the requirements of connecting the North and South of Phu Quoc island for socio-economic development and security - defense.

The total length of the route is 24.5 km and is divided into 2 sections: Duong Dong - Suoi Cai section is 12.4 km long with a roadbed width of 26 m and road surface of 15 m; The Suoi Cai - Bai Thom section is 12 km long, with a 16.6 m wide road base and 7.5 m wide road surface. On the new construction route, there will be 5 reinforced concrete bridges, 7 round culverts and 46 reinforced concrete box culverts. The total project investment is 905 billion VND, of which construction costs are 647 billion VND, compensation costs for site clearance are 68 billion VND, and the remaining are mine clearance costs, reserve fees and other costs. Construction investment capital from Government bonds, implementation period 2009-2010 (plan).

Ngu Thuong Company undertakes the package of 5 bridges in the Suoi Cai - Bai Thom section. Work started in early 2010. Due to objective conditions, the project will likely be completed at the end of 2011.
