Completed 3 months ahead of schedule, that is, bringing in 26 billion VND to the country, which is a number based on AusAID's assessment in terms of saving money. But a bigger benefit is making world friends see the potential of Vietnam in general and of the Vietnamese workforce in particular as the country begins to return to the international community.
Completed ahead of schedule, it is an achievement that many managers or investors wish for but cannot achieve, whether in Vietnam or anywhere in the world. The reality of this success is the combination of many factors that can be considered as Thien Thoi, Dia Loi, and Nhan Hoa.

Perfect Design Survey
Perhaps all design problems have remained with previous failed plans, so the construction work has hardly encountered any significant obstacles. Right from the first tasks such as pile drilling, progress was good due to the use of suitable equipment brought from Germany, to sliding formwork sets to make the main bridge manufactured in Vietnam also worked perfectly.
Active in construction
A working spirit rarely seen in other projects by workers, mostly from the West, in the later stages of the project. In fact, right from the beginning, a number of well-known domestic companies were nominated or "won" the bid to act as subcontractors for the main contractor from Australia. Later, there was only one successful company left at the My Thuan bridge project with a commander who was exposed to the sun and wind at the construction site. The workforce of other companies is gradually replaced by "direct labor" provided by another subcontractor working under the direct command of the main contractor's engineer. Since then, many farmers and craftsmen have become construction workers with all kinds of skills.
Close supervision
There is not a single item that needs to be redone. This is the result of a close connection between Consulting - Supervision, Main Contractor and Sub-Contractor. This connection is not born from the meeting table, but people only see the general image of the Consultant quietly walking back and forth while the work is being carried out, the black main contractor engineer mingling with the subcontractor's workers who are enthusiastically working.
Full finances
Ignoring political gains and losses, My Thuan Bridge does not face financial obstacles. The site was cleared 50 years ago. The attention of local authorities on both sides of the Tien River is also a factor contributing to the success of the My Thuan bridge project, which later brought more or less benefits to localities on both sides of the bridge.
Absolutely safe
At the time My Thuan Bridge was being built, a series of other small bridges were also being deployed in the area and it was considered inevitable that each bridge would have one or two people "sacrificed". But My Thuan Bridge has been blessed with almost absolute safety by God thanks to the enthusiasm and sweat of hundreds of people pouring into the land of My Thuan to build a bridge whose miracles will not be easily broken for many years to come.
And like any other project, there are always good and bad sides. What is not allowed here is theft. Even though it was protected by a "more than professional" force, embarrassing things still happened and at times it became the only "outstanding" problem of the project. This outstanding problem is now becoming more and more prominent in other projects. It was an embarrassment for Vietnamese people in front of friends from Australia, Germany, France, and Malaysia at that time. I hope everyone is more responsible and especially you have enough power to reduce this so it does not become a "normal" thing in Vietnam in the eyes of world friends. In this way, projects will be easier to complete on time, and the country will have one less obstacle on the path to becoming a great power.
Some pictures of My Thuan Bridge during construction

A turning point in the traffic of the Mekong Delta is only heard about

Stuffed "scraper" piles

Firmly in the middle of the Mekong River
North bank main headquarters

Just two pillars

Raise the main beam

Move sliding formwork

One of four mold sets

Create a stomach ball from these planks

The sliding formwork is being raised

Oh so high

Across the Mekong River

It's solid

Reach out

Under the bridge

The cable car looks so flimsy

Suspension bridge

Connecting friendship

Final step to connect

The first car... flew over the bridge

Will tower high above

Tower crane foundation...before being blown up

Completed

Spring has come

Happy happy

Under the peaceful clouds
